Start with free play, on purpose
Kids arrive scattered over fifteen minutes. Instead of waiting, roll the balls out and let early arrivals play 2v2 to little goals. It doubles as a warm-up, it is the most soccer-like thing they will do all day, and practice effectively starts the moment the first kid shows up.
Why small-sided games carry the session
In a 3v3, each player gets ten times the touches of an 11v11 scrimmage — more dribbles, more passes, more decisions, more goals. It is also self-teaching: spacing problems are obvious when there are only six players. Save full-field play for game day; build players in small games.
